Junior Tennis Racquets
So you have a child interested in tennis lessons and are wondering what to do about a racquet?First, it’s important to know why you should get a junior sized racquet for your junior size player! Kids need lighter and shorter racquets to be able to properly hold and maneuver the racquet – this will make the sport much more enjoyable for them and help avoid injuries. Please don’t give a child a racquetball racquet to use in tennis.
Now, if you just want to try tennis or you’re not sure if your child will want to continue with tennis, you may want to arrange with Kim to borrow a kid’s tennis racquet. Please let her know in advance of the class or lesson that you’ll need a racquet and how tall your child is so she can be sure to have one on hand for your child at the lesson.
If you’re interested in purchasing a racquet, how do you know what size racquet to get? This part is easy! Kim has racquets available in all the kid sizes for the low cost of $20 and can bring one to your child’s lesson. Refer to the chart below for the proper racquet size based on your child’s height and let her know what size you will need or how tall your child is and your little tennis star will be all set!
